Ashburton - Paul Cartney


Paul has been working in the building industry now for 20 years.  He did his apprenticeship with a Rakaia builder and then went on to work for a local builder in Ashburton.

In 2005 Paul started his own building company Cartney Construction Ltd which included new homes, renovations and farm buildings in the Mid Canterbury Area. Paul enjoys renovations and extensions and loves the challenge as they require you to look outside the square.

Paul is a multi award winning Licensed Building Practitioner and a Member of the Master Builders Association.

Christchurch Port Hills - Anthony Bown


Anthony has been in the building business in the Lyttelton area for almost a decade where they have been heavily involved in the emergency repair works from the earthquakes that have been rolling through the area for the last few years.

Anthony especially enjoys difficult projects, such as working on steep hill sites or restoring historically listed houses. Some of the work the Port Hills team have been doing has been technically challenging and the team have had some really had some unusual issues to overcome.

Anthony Bown is a Licensed Building Practitioner and a Member of the Masters Builders Association.

Riccarton - Simon Thomson


Simon grew up in Oxford, North Canterbury. After leaving school Simon went straight into his Building apprenticeship with his father’s company, and became a qualified builder in 2009.

Simon has worked on a wide range of residential and light commercial renovation and design and build projects. Simon's clients love his genuine enthusiasm for building. Working to get every aspect of the project right and his helpful nature makes Simon a great to project manager to work with.

Simon Thomson is a Licensed Building Practitioner and New Zealand Certified Builder.

Christchurch South - Tiny McColl


Tiny is the Director of Christchurch South. Tiny has over 40 years of experience in the building industry. He has a wealth of knowledge from his time in the industry.

Christchurch South is a family-run business and under Tiny's direction, the team work together with each client to understand the project requirements, advise on the possibilities and options, and then deliver the best possible results on time and to budget.

Katie Searle (Tiny’s daughter) is the office manager and keeps the admin side of it all under control. Josh McColl (Tiny’s son) is the site Foreman.

Tiny McColl is a Licensed Building Practitioner and New Zealand Certified Builder.
